Public Forum on Bullying and LGBTQ Teen Suicide

Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center (MGLCC) will host a public forum to discuss the issues of bullying and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) teen suicide on Tuesday, October 19 at 7:00pm. We plan to hold the forum at MGLCC pending the number of interested people. Recent news stories about the suicides of young men around the country have reminded us all that bullying among LGBTQ teens is a very real problem. Research suggests that LGBTQ teens are as much as 8 times more likely to attempt suicide as their straight peers. The forum will be a place to share our anger and frustration over these needless deaths, and to learn about resources that are available to make our kids safer.
